2019-2020 IEEE Tunisia section Election

The IEEE Tunisia section Nominations and Appointments (N&A) committee is soliciting nominations for the following leadership volunteering positions who will work together for two years 2019 and 2019:

  • IEEE Tunisia section 2019-2020 Chair Elect (will serve as 2021-2022 Chair)
  • IEEE Tunisia section 2019-2020 Treasurer
  • IEEE Tunisia section 2019-2020 Secretary

If you are interested to be a candidate or you would like to nominate one of your colleagues, please submit your suggestions/nominations by filling the IEEE Tunisia section Nomination form below by 15 July 2018.

The N&A committee will verify the candidates’ eligibility and willingness to serve, and will select from all such submissions the candidates for each position, and submit the slate of candidates to the Section Committee for approval by the elected members (officers, chapter chairs, and affinity group chairs).

Note: In addition to the candidates nominated by the N&A Committee, eligible members may be nominated by petition <petition form> by 15 August 2018 (the number of signatures required on a petition is 2% of the eligible voters on 15 July 2018).

The entire slate of candidates for office shall be communicated to the voting members of the Section on 31 August 2018. The election process will be by secret ballot through IEEE vTools website from 1st September to 30 September 2018.

The announcement of the election results for 2019-2020 officers will be on 5 October 2018.
For all further details, please refer to the IEEE MGA Operations Manual, in particular the section 9.4. <link>.

Notes:

  • Candidates must hold active 2018 IEEE membership; must hold grade of Graduate student Member, Member, Senior Member or Fellow; and must reside in Tunisia from 1st January 2019 to 31 December 2020.
  • Undergraduate student and Associate members are not eligible to apply and to vote.
  • According to the MGA operations manual, the consecutive period of service in any one office shall normally not exceed four successive years or a cumulative total of 6 years.
  • It is highly recommended that candidates complete the volunteer training:
    • Section chair elect  <link><link>
    • Section treasurer  <link>
    • Section Secretary  <link>
  • The election of chapters and affinity groups officers will be organized after the election of the sections officers. The nomination deadline for chapters/affinity groups officers (chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer) is 15 October 2018.
