Outstanding Student Branch Award

Purpose: The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding performance of the IEEE Tunisia Student Branches in serving their members and establishing goodwill for the Tunisia Section.
Prizes:

  • Outstanding SMALL Student Branch Award ( between 12 and 60 students and GStd members)
  • Outstanding MEDIUM Student Branch Award (between 61 and 200 students and GStd members)
  • Outstanding LARGE Student Branch Award (more than 200 students and GStd members)

Funding:

$150 to be used for Student branch activities, a Certificate, and a trophy. Funded by the IEEE Tunisia section

Eligibility requirements:

The student branch must have:

  • been active at least one year when the nomination is made;
  • an updated website under the ieee.tn or ieee.org domain;
  • an SB contact email @ieee.tn or @ieee.org;
  • an active SB counselor as a teacher in the school of the SB;
  • outstanding student activities and services to its local student members in one or more of the following areas: technical meetings, tours and seminars and/or tutorials, other services and activities for the local IEEE student members of the school.

The basis for Judging:

The selection criterion is the outstanding performance of the student branch. In selecting award recipient, the awards committee and the student activities coordinator consider contributions of the student branch activities, which may be manifested in the following manners:

  1. (10 points) continuous technical, educational, administrative, membership development, communications and public relations activity
  2. (10 points) exceptional managerial and leadership achievement
  3. (10 points) implementation of innovative new student branch programs
  4. (10 points) dedication to the growth and retention of the student branch´s membership
  5. (10 points) development of the student branch website and newsletter
  6. (10 points) use of enotice vTools as the main tool to communicate with student branch members
  7. (10 points) publication of the activities’ agenda and the reports/photos of past activities on the SB’s website
  8. (10 points) participation in the IEEE international competitions and calls for projects
  9. (10 points) fulfilling all requirements of reporting to the section and the respect of MGA bylaws.
  10. (10 points) Collaboration with other SB, student chapters and local communities.

Presentation:

One award will be given per year. The award will be announced and presented at a Tunisia section event.
